Night Out Face

Let me start with another disclaimer: I tend to think extremely faster that my fingers move. So, if I happen to skip or misspell words, forgive me. I promise I have exceptional grammar when necessary, but I believe we're all relaxed here. lol  Anywho....

So here I'm giving my 'yea I'm out enjoying night life but not spending any $ face'. lol Gotta be cheap when you're broke, right? Here's what I did & what products I used:

After cleansing my canvas, I moisturized with MAC Oil Control Lotion (Under $16 after taxes). With E.L.F. Eyelid Primer in Sheer ($1.08), I prepped my eyes, so that my shadow would last of course. I then applied MAC eyeshadow in orange (under $12) sightly above my crease. The remainder of my eye colors came from my new fav- Wet n Wild Coloricon 8 pan palette in Drinking a Glass of Shine, formally known as I <3 Matte (under $6). (Side note: expect an array of Wet n Wild product reviews. I'm obsessed with them!) I applied the brown to my crease & blended a lil above the crease & the eyelid. I do this because my crease sinks in so, crease colors tend to go unnoticed if I don't broaden the colors. Then, I applied the black to the & corners of my eyelid & blended inward slightly above my eyelid & in crease- thinning out the color the closer I get to my nose. Next, I applied the lightest color under my brows as a highlight, lined my waterlines & lids with NYX eyeliner in black ($2.50) & smudged a little black under my waterlines. After cleaning the fall out/ spilled eyeshadow from under my eyes, to lighten up my dark spots & freckles, I used NYX HD Photogenic Concealer in Nutmeg (lil over $6), Black Opal True Color Creme Stick Foundation in Truly Topaz (lil over $10) as my foundation & a smudge of an Avon creme stick concealer($5), not exactly sure of the color but its 2 shades lighter than my tone to create a highlight under my eyes & on my nose. I then, slightly contoured my nose with an NYC eyeshadow (under $5). Why? Because I didn't care for it as an eyeshadow but it looked awesome as a contour. Besides, I love to improvise :). I set my foundation with a tap of Black Radiance loose powder in Honey (lil over $5). Only a tap because its my summer color & it gives me a warm glow, but will make me look too bronze if I use too much. Also, I don't use it in my contoured area, esp under my eyes since I've had bags & circles since birth. lol For my cheeks, MAC blush in Format (under $16). Keep in mind, I am an over blusher. I'm talking, 80's style cheek  streaks! Ha! Not everyone will like as much color on their cheeks as I. I also apply this color around my hairline, esp where the contour points are around the temple. After blending any obvious lines or streaks, I set my tzone with MAC Prep + Prime loose powder in translucent (over $22). This is one of my more pricey products, used to control the buckets of oil I seem to seep :(. I have cheaper alternatives, but none of them work as well & tend to give an ashy finish. Last, I popped on Wet n Wild lipstick in Purty Persimmon- $2.15 after tax & rolled out! :)

What I did wrong & would do differently: So, as u can see, I used a lot of products for this look. I have a habit of just reaching for stuff that I know will enhance a look w/o keeping my oily skin in mind. Although I didn't shine up too much on this particular night (Well not before the party started lol), I still would eliminate the Avon concealer & use a good powder instead. Also, if u look closely, you'll notice my highlighted area on my forehead is not blended well- fading upward twd my hairline. I was out the door taking pix before my makeup got a chance to set completely. Anywho..... given those lil nit picks, it was still an ok look don't ya think? lol
