Let me start by saying that I was very proud of this eye last night! Jesus be a crease brush! lol k...that's outta the way....
Any makeup lover who's seen the Maybeline Color Tattoo has stared in awe of at that orange color on the pretty lil coco girl. I meean...the color popped (*I'm my best Tamar Braxton voice* lol)! Well at least I thought it did. So, I went to target, who's prices are a lil more expensive than my fav store Walmart, with the exception getting MAKEUP, & first purchased the orange one for a lil over $5 after taxes. Went home to try it out, only to discover that the snazzy tv color didn't make it into my jar. Was I disappointed? No, I went back & got the purple one. Since the creamy colors have ok pigmentation on their own, I knew the magic would happen when I paired them with a same or similar colored powder shadow because the tattoo would be more-so a shadow base/primer/ adhesive. Plus, after all, I'm the queen of improv! lol So, with that, I whipped out my current fav Wet n Wild (WnW) palette & went to work.
I've been searching for WnW's Drinking a Glass of Shine (DAGOS for short & formally the I <3 Matte palette) since I found out from a fellow MU fanatic that there existed WnW palettes that I was unaware of. lol My initial search was on google for the Sparkle Til Morning palette. There, I discovered that it & DAGOS were 2 of 3 limited edition palettes that were in drugstores across the country with the exception of Philly :(. When they were finally made available here as apart of the 2012 Where's the Party Holiday Collection, it was only to one Walgreen drugstore in the city. By the time I made it across town to buy the 2 palettes, DAGOS & the other one I didn't care for were the only ones left. :( SHAME!
So, having told that lil story, it should be apparent that this palette is cherished. lol Not to mention, WnW shadows have great pigmentation, blend pretty well & are a lil under $6. I used the pretty matte purple over the color tattoo, black for definition & crease, brown also in the crease & the sandish color for the highlight. The orange is from MAC & is a lil over $11 when bought as a single shadow that locks into a palette, & the teal is from another WnW palette.
I'm gonna talk about blending & brushes a lil later....til then, Clean ya canvas, gather ya brushes & work! lol
