Newspaper Nail Art

So I finally got around to trying this & the hardest part was finding a newspaper to cut up....After all, who has newspaper laying around when a smartphone & Google tells u virtually anything u need to know?! lol I grabbed the Circular....u know, that white packet they throw on the steps w/ the sales paper in it?...& went to work.

Step 1: After filing, I polished my nails with my fav OPI polish- Samoan Sand (usually $6-$10). A basecoat should probably be put on first, but since this was a trial, I skipped that step. Anywho, since the color is very sheer, I applied 3 coats.

(Sidenote: A cheaper polish would suffice, but I'm a fan of OPI's colors & staying power.)

Step 2: Once the polished dried enough to not easily smudge, I dipped a nail in alcohol,

Step 3: Pressed the paper (ink side down) onto my nail, dabbed the back of the paper with a cottonball wet w/ alcohol & held a lil firmly.

Step 4: Next, I gently peeled the paper off, repeated 1-4 for each nail,

Step 5: Applied a clear topcoat & that's it!

What I'd do differently: Besides pressing the paper on more evenly & neatly, instead of the sales paper, I'd use a newspaper. I think the ink would transfer easier & come out darker. Also, to get that actual newspaper look, I would use & light gray polish instead. All in all, can't wait to redo this!
