Hair Chronicles: Road to Redemption....HAIR DRAMA EXPOSED!

So my momma always told me "YOU DON'T NEED A PERM" but, I rarely listened. Ever since that initial high on the Creamy Crack, I couldn't get enough.  But without it, I've always had a "good grade", very flexible & versatile. I can wear it straight, curled, curly or in a bun with no problem. My scalp on the other hand is a piece of shit & I have to wash it every 3 days. But its just something about the crispness (lol @ crispness) of a relaxer that I've always loved. Now, I don't believe I ODed on relaxers when my hair was long. But, since I've been wearing my hair short, its likely. Its only in hindsight that I now realize my hair is probably tired from a combination of relaxers, frequent washings & all the VERSATILITY Ive put it through over the yrs.
I love my short hair & will most likely never grow it back. Nevertheless, it requires a lil more maintenance than longer hair. Can't just wash & blow dry, you gotta mold, tie it down & then dry. No ponytails on a bad hair day & relaxers are more frequent to keep fly aways & tapers in place. Any good hairstylist will tell you that relaxers weaken the hair & strips it of its natural proteins & oils. So, adding frequent shampooing to the equation further dries it our & is a disaster waiting to happen. Even knowing all this in,  I've still been addicted to the Creamy Crack smh. Well, the other day when I put that damn TCB setting lotion in, my hair STRAIGHT played me :(

Initially, I thought this mess was caused by the setting lotion alone.I normally just mold my hair with oil. The alcohol in the setting lotions makes it crunchy. Now I realize my tresses are just stressed out from lack of protein & conditioning. This is day one above...

Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, here's day 2! smh...my poor forehead worry lines...

And then she tried it....smh I resulted to gel to tame it until I figured out wth to do. Lookin a hot mess!

And finally...Here is my current remedy. Dr. Miracle's Damaged Hair Repair Treatment, the medicated kind, & Parnevu's leave in conditioner for dry hair. After washing with a conditioning shampoo, I put the Dr Miracle in. Immediately, it started tingling. Not a sign of it working for my hair, but it was soothing to my dumb ass itchy scalp. However, the sign came when I was able to comb thru it, which I couldn't do before without it kinking, & it began to feel softer. After 10 mins, I washing it out, toweled the excess water and molded my hair with the Parnevu...

And woke up like this this AM, which is a whole lot better than it was. PRAISE GOD!!! lol

Moral of the story.....Im gonna stop relaxing until necessary -______-
