Relax...It's Just Lipstick :)

You don't even have to be heavy into makeup to enjoy the beauty of a painted lip. It's just something about lipstick that sums up the look, the feel, the attitude of its wearer.Well at least for me anyway. If wasn't until recently, within the past yr or so, that I've developed a love and somewhat obsession with lipstick.

As you can see...this love is real lol. And in true cheapy fashion, the first 10 or 12 are Wet n Wild, followed by a few NYCs- my favorite drugstore brands.

I ppreviously posted this pic with a few others of a purple ombre lip, which happens to be a go to for me when I think Im cute lol. Although I have a few variations, the component that stays the same in each one is Wet n Wild's black liner and lipstick in Vamp It Up.

Vamp It Up is a very deep, dark purple that has a matte finish without the ashy look.  I absolutely adore it against my light bright skin especially in the Winter lol. I use to be fearful of it looking too goth or emo when I initially got it. However, I came up with various ways to lighten it up, such as pairing it with other lipsticks and a lil gloss. Bellow is a combo of Vamp it Up (918, I think) and my fave NYC lipstick in Retro Red. Forgive the blur...whomp whoomp lol

Besides the staying power (given you don't eat or drink anything :/), the best thing about these babies are the prices. Wet n Wild lipsticks range from $1- 3 in carrying drugstores and Dollar General here in Philly. NYC lipstick, also sold in most drugstores, Walmart & Target, ranges in at a whopping $1-2! 

Here's my ultimate/favorite nude/light pink lip. I pair MAC's lip pencil in Subculture with

WnW's Bare It All- 902C. If I'm feeling frosty, I'll top it with MAC's gloss in GAGA2. Bare It All usually has a matte finish and has more of a nudish tan/pink tint. However, because I was wearing Maybeline's Vivid lipstick in Shocking Coral prior to the pic, it looks more pink and glossy here. Which brings me to my next new fave!

These babies are new. Maybeline Vivids are probably the most vibrant bright colored lipsticks I've seen in drugstores recently. Although they are nearly sheer, the pigment is great. I don't usually go for satin/sheen finishes in any makeup because I'm so oily and I don't like the feel of anything remotely greasy.Nevertheless, I couldn't resist when I laid eyes on these colors! 

Forgive my hair...we're still working things out lol. But here, I paired WnW's lip pencil in Wild Cherry with Maybeline's Vivid in Neon Red over top and Shocking Coral in the middle. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten my hands on the Hot Plum. That one belongs to my corny mother lol :/ These gorgies are normally around $8 but my momma & I caught them on sale at Rite Aid for $5.99 

Moral of the story.....lipstick could change your life...if not...your mood and/or swag....& you'd be surprised at how many men love a painted lip ;) REOW! lol! Smooches...
